Elijah Legassie, LCSW
Therapy for adults in CT struggling with ADHD, anxiety, and more.
I get how hard it can be.
Living with ADHD, anxiety, depression, challenging transitions, or identity struggles can feel like you're fighting battles that others can't see or understand.
It can feel overwhelming and hopeless at times, can't it? Some days, you may be firing on all cylinders with brilliant ideas and energy, only to crash into overwhelm when simple tasks feel impossible. Maybe your anxiety might whisper lies about all the ways things could go wrong, and the depression can make even simple tasks like leaving the house feel like climbing a mountain.
Or, as a LGTBQ+ individual, you might feel exhausted from constantly calculating whether it's safe to be yourself, or carrying the weight of family rejection while trying to build authentic relationships.
Sometimes these challenges can creep up so gradually that you don't realize how much they've taken over until you feel completely disconnected from who you used to be. Clients wrestling with these issues often relate to the following experiences:
Your brain jumping from task to task, leaving a trail of half-finished projects and mounting deadlines
Anxiety that makes your heart race and your mind spin with worst-case scenarios
Feeling like you have to hide parts of your identity or relationships to stay safe or accepted
Procrastinating on important things while hyperfocusing on things that don't matter
Unable to fall asleep due to racing thoughts, or trouble staying asleep.
Loss of interest or difficulty in socializing with friends and family
Feeling unmotivated to engage in hobbies your used to enjoy.
Struggling with rejection sensitivity - taking every criticism as proof you're not good enough
Feeling isolated because no one seems to understand your unique challenges
Using distractions to escape overwhelming emotions or responsibilities
Fighting internal battles about your sexuality or gender identity
I know how challenging it is to navigate these complex struggles, and I'm here to ensure you aren't alone on your journey toward healing and self-acceptance.

My Specialties & Proven Techniques
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT helps you understand how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors. This approach helps you break free from self-limiting beliefs and develop more balanced thinking.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy: This innovative trauma therapy helps the brain process difficult memories and experiences in a new way. Within a few sessions, clients report that the negative memories no longer hold the same emotional power and they feel immense relief and a sense of emotional freedom.
How I can help you:
I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where we work together to develop a personalized therapy plan that evolves with your needs. As your guide and partner, I combine compassionate care with evidence-based strategies to help you achieve lasting change.
What to expect from working with me:
You can expect to develop practical, positive coping skills that actually work in your daily life. You'll gain fresh perspectives on challenges that may have felt overwhelming or unchanging. Most importantly, you'll build renewed confidence - not just to face difficulties, but to truly understand and identify them before they become unmanageable.
My goal is to empower you with tools and insights that extend far beyond our sessions together, helping you approach life's ups and downs with greater self-awareness, resilience, and hope.
Together, we'll build on your inherent strengths to create sustainable change, helping you move from simply surviving to genuinely thriving.

On a personal note:
When I'm not in session, you'll find me outdoors gardening, baking something new in the kitchen, or exploring nature.
I'm also passionate about the power of strong communities and believe deeply in the strength that comes from genuine human connection and support.
