All About Angela

Angela is a bilingual (Spanish and English) therapist serving clients in MA. Her approach to therapy is all about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your true self. She specializes in addressing difficulties that are common for young adults, college students, and professionals—whether they are struggling with anxiety, major life changes, relationship issues, or just feeling stuck. She is particularly passionate about working with first generation immigrants due to her own experience of coming to this country. Her goal is to work with you to find strategies that make sense for your life and your unique situation.

In your sessions, you can expect empathy, practical advice, and genuine support—therapy that meets you where you are. Using CBT, you will explore your thoughts and feelings, and she will support you in finding clarity and confidence in your decisions. With warmth and empathy, She will create a safe space for you to overcome these struggles and transition from simply surviving to thriving.

What insurance do you take?

Aetna, United Healthcare, Optum, Oxford, Oscar, and UMR. We are not in network with BCBS but we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit for reimbursement using your out of network benefits. You can see a full list of companies I'm in network with here. We will verify your benefits and help you find the most affordable way to engage in therapy.

How would your clients describe you?

My clients often describe me as empathetic, supportive, and understanding. They appreciate my ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where they can freely express themselves and feel truly heard.

What is your approach to therapy?

Often, we are stuck living in our past experiences, and negative beliefs get in the way of living a better life. I aim to help my clients improve their quality of life by identifying their strengths, utilizing new coping skills, and strengthening their support systems. I utilize CBT, as well as other approaches, to help adults develop healthier ways of thinking about themselves and responding to stressors in their environment.

Why did you become a therapist?

I decided to become a social worker after reflecting on my experiences as a first-generation immigrant and the struggles of my family assimilating to this new country. I remembered how social workers were there to support my family every step of the way and the difference they made in our lives.

What is your educational background?

I have a Master degree in Social Work from University of CT. My degree enabled me to gain a deep understanding of how biological, psychological, environmental, and social systems impact people's functioning and potential. This comprehensive education has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

What else should I know about you?

I believe that everyone has intrinsic value, but sometimes we struggle to see our own self-worth. Therapy is a sacred space where we can learn to be more vulnerable, more connected to others, and more present to improve our quality of life. I believe it's possible to overcome our emotional hurdles and transition from simply surviving to thriving.
